Product Variants
Some products come in different options — like sizes (S, M, L) or colors (Red, Blue, Black). In Sevoria, these are called variants. Each variant can have its own price, stock quantity, and barcode.
When to use variants
Use variants when you sell a single product that comes in different versions. For example:
- T-Shirts — Small, Medium, Large, XL
- Shoes — Size 39, 40, 41, 42
- Phone Cases — Red, Blue, Black
- Drinks — 33cl, 50cl, 1 Litre
How to add a product with variants
Start adding a new product
Go to Products and click "Add Product" just like you would for a simple product.
Choose 'Variable' as the product type
In the product form, change the type from "Simple" to "Variable". This unlocks the variant options.
Add your variants
For each variant, you'll need to provide:
- Option values — the specific option (e.g., "Medium" or "Red")
- Price — the selling price for this variant
- SKU — a unique code for this variant (auto-generated or custom)
- Barcode (optional) — a barcode for scanning
- Stock Quantity — how many of this variant you have
Save the product
Once you've added all the variants, click "Save" to create the product.
How variants work on the POS
When a customer wants to buy a variable product:
- You tap the product on the POS screen
- A popup appears asking you to choose a variant (e.g., "Which size?")
- You select the correct option
- The variant is added to the cart with its specific price
Each variant has its own stock count. If "Medium" is out of stock but "Large" still has stock, only "Medium" will show as unavailable.
Editing variants
