Point of Sale Overview
The Point of Sale (POS) is the screen you'll use every day to process sales and take payments from customers. Think of it as your digital cash register.
How the POS screen is laid out
The POS screen is split into two main areas:
📦 Product Grid (Left Side)
This is where all your products are shown. You can browse, search, and tap on products to add them to the cart.
🛒 Cart Panel (Right Side)
This shows the items the customer wants to buy. You can see the quantity, price, and total. On mobile, this appears as a slide-up panel.
Top bar features
At the top of the POS screen, you'll find:
- Location Selector — choose which store location you're selling from. Inventory is tracked per location, so this matters!
- Search Bar — quickly find a product by typing its name or scanning its barcode
- Category Filter — filter products by category (e.g., "Drinks", "Electronics", "Clothing")
If you are a staff member assigned to a specific location, the location selector will be locked to your assigned location. Only business owners can switch between locations freely.
